Who is Walt Disney?

In 1964 Walt Disney had reached the pinnacle of his career  , leading the entertainment  and film industry-even to this day.
Many have watched his hilarious films and yet don’t  have a clue about  the creator of such art.
So who is Walt Disney ?
In 1901 Elias and Flora gave birth to Walt- in Chicago . Farming was the source of income for the Disney family. Elias later joined a newspaper company in Kansas city.
At the age of 9 Walt joined his father  in the newspaper company and
 started distributing newspapers .
In Kansas city Walt befriended one boy –who fancied going to movies. The love for movies was kindled in Walt’s heart but he decided to do more, to pursue a career in film.
In June  1917 Walt graduated from the 7th grade of  Betten school ,after graduation he got a job as a newspaper distributor.
At 15 he started doing cartoon images for local newspapers. In his pursuit of service he ended up serving in the red cross during German amnesty.
Back in  Kansas city Walt decided  to pursue his dream of being an artist. He met a highly talented young mean named Abby .
The two started a little company of their own but the revenue was so small to earn a living from , hence they got employment at Kansas City Film Ad Service.
At Kansas City Film Ad Service Walt was introduced to animated film-cartoons.
With a borrowed camera Walt started making cartoons of his own from the back yard and he called them Laugh –o –grams .He signed a contract with Pictorial  clubs. The 20 year old was about to earn his first  11 100 dollars.
Alice’s Wonderland was a breaking ground for Walt ,unfortunately  not much sales where  made  because the distributor closed down .Walt was left bankrupt. July 1923 he sold his camera  and he was out of business. He  moved to Hollywood where he sought to be hired as a director-which was but a challenge.
October 15 , in new York city  he met another distributor Magret Winglee , who offered to assist sell his films.
Together with his brother Roy they bought another 200 dollar camera and started shooting more cartoons .
The Disney brothers  made a name for themselves in 1926 when they started animating  a rabbit named Oswald and later mickey mouse.
1932 –Flowers and trees was published in color images.
Walt grabbed the first Oscar award ever to be won for cartoon. The man had already proved to be heading far and hence he send his animators for training .
1937- Walt had a resounded success  in the cartoon Snow white.
December 1937 holly wood turned out for a cartoon Walt had made. To prove this outstanding work ,Walt received a special academic  award in 18 December 1937.

This is the story of a man who made a decision to change the entertainment industry and has build a empire known through out the whole world ,the Disney Empire.

Making a decision and sticking to it –A lesson learnt from Nelson Mandela’s life .

Nelson Mandela proved himself to be man of good principles and integrity by making a decision and sticking to it.
The challenges ,the suffering and the hurt that
he experienced in isolation were so huge to cause a man to fickle  and change his principles.
Nelson  stood tirelessly , defending his cause  ,not giving in to the hardships that he faced.
A man sure of what he wanted to achieve ,he had made a decision ,
To be of  help to his countrymen and men across the world. He made that decision and he stood by it.
Feeble ,unpredictable people don’t  go far in life.
This is one lesson I have  learnt from Madiba ,and  every youth must learn today as they forge their lives through  the challenges and obstacles of this life.
I have heard stories of many young people who have dropped out of college after one year in college- the cause being inability to stick to the  decision made .
Most successful people know the power of persistence and courage in reaching the pinnacle of their dreams and achieving outstanding  goals in their lives.
Mandela  was not such a being , who makes a decision today and changes tomorrow and many youth today lacks such character.
Many who commit themselves to marriage fail to go until death do us part. Why?-
Failure to stick to decisions made ,due to early gratifications and way –obstacles results in shortcomings and failures.
Many are so fickle and inconsistent ,they turn back easily in the midst  of challenges.
If you  have made a decision ,to start running your own business, you have done well .
However  there are challenges and obstacles on the way . Don’t  fickle ,hold on to your dream ,stick to your decision ,don’t give up.
That is the character of Madiba.
Rest in peace Nelson Mandela.
